While LED grow lights have been around for a long time, it only in recent years that technological advancements have resulted in highly effective growing systems.  The latest models produce a very intense light that can be matched precisely to the wavelengths of light that are most useful for optimal plant growth.  They have a lower heat output when compared to HID grow lights, use less energy and are longer lasting.  Even a low wattage bulb such as a 90 watt LED grow light will emit light at sufficient intensities to promote photosynthesis.
